SKI 360
Cable skiing or wake-boarding, as its name implies, is water-skiing or wake-boarding. Instead of being pulled by a boat, it would be an overhead cable taking its place. This is very similar to a snow ski lift, but erected around the banks of a lake. Cable skiing proposes an excitement with a top speed of 58 kph.
The cables runs counter clockwise around the lake and the participants are, very simply, hooked up to the cable on the move. It is powered by a variable speed electric motor that can maintain speed between 20 - 58 kph.
People of all ages and abilities can slalom, trick ski, kneeboard, or even surf without the wave. Up to 8 skiers or wake boarders can participate at the same time on one cableway.
The cable ski opens from every Monday to Thursday from 10am till 10 pm to the night. Except on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays (Singapore), it opens slightly earlier, from 9 in the morning all the way till 12 midnight.
As I stand before the cable ski inhaling a large breath, I was prepared for a new challenge and whole new idea of fun. Also, I looked at how the other professional actually does it. They made the entire procedure looked simple and easy.
The ski passes varies with the time you decided to spend there. An hour of fun would be $32, 2 hours $48 and 4 hours $70. These include the rental of equipments and other necessary items. However, Ski 360 is offering a promotion when you go in groups. This is an ideal choice for a nice family outing during the weekends or a hangout place with friends who loves water sports.
If you are a beginner, there is nothing to worry. A short lesson would be conducted to teach you the different skiing techniques and how the current moves in the water. Safety precautions and other important information are also provided before the start.
Skiing at such a high speed of 58 KPH , the wind blowing against you is just magnificent and while being pulled along at the this speed, it’s always fun to do a trick or two just to have a taste of how the sport works! Being Singapore’s only water ski, it brings about a different form of excitement compared to the ski in open seas or slopes. Ramps are placed at different position in the water area to make the experience a more interesting one. Difficult and complicated tricks can be performed with the help of the ramps.

UNCLE RINGO
Ever heard of Singapore’s very own and unique night market called, Pasar Malam? This is a night market found in the heartlands of Singapore. But, this is not my point. What is the fun if you don't come and experience our very own mobile amusement parks? Uncle Ringo is a famous amusement park and they can be found at every Pasar Malam you find.
Uncle Ringo started in Singapore since the 1980s, and the name had always been associated with fun and excitement. While the countless events brought thrilling and joyful experiences, Uncle Ringo has became a household name over the years.
Uncles Ringo have the largest range or rides and novelties, inflatable to suit any age group and caters to different expectation of different people and offers the best for everyone. His wonderland brings excitement and fun alive! It is a place of medicine for the sorrow and a perfect recipe for thrills and craziness. Uncle Ringo provides a wide variety of rides and had been a renowned amusement park throughout the country.
Without further ado, let me introduce you a few of my favourite rides.
BUMPER CAR
Although it is the most common ride around the world, it is still the most fun-filled and exciting ride.
Known for the huge collision at every corner and bend, this ride is the favourite among many locals and it is definitely a must-try ride to experience the nasty bangs and crazily loud music.
The meteorite made a name for itself through the high-speed repetitive turns with twisting and turning within the circular metal enclosure. Pressing against the strong wind; the meteorite is able to accomplish an incredible speed in a short time which offers excitement yet fear to many of the people that dare to pit themselves against the machine.
What fun does an amusement park has if it doesn’t caters to the needs of the little people out there. That’s right kids; there is no need to be alarm as Uncle Ringo does provide a range of exciting small rides which is specially design for kids, age 3 onwards. It definitely brings smiles to many kids out there and parents can safety rest assure as these machines are built in consideration of their safety.
ROCKING CHAIR
The rocking chair caters to the children of a lower age. It allows a family concept of fun which is able to entertain both the adults and as well as the child. A safe structure construction with the welfare of children, the rocking chair ensures maximum entertainment for the kids and minimum anxiety for the adults.
TRAILER SWING
Imagine swinging in the air at high speed! But not to worry, safety precautions are well taken care of. This ride is available to the young and old. But definitely, there is a height limit to it.

So that's about all for Sentosa (in our previous 2 post). Next up, we’ll be bringing you the various theme parks and recreational places in Singapore.
Places includes out very own theme park, Escape Theme Park, and also our very own cable ski at Ski 360, located in East Coast Park.
First stop, we’ll be going to Escape Theme Park!
Escape them park, like its name suggests, is an ideal place for those looking to host special and fun events such as theme parties, birthday bashes and corporate functions. The theme park is the best and only stationary theme park in Singapore, commonly frequent by the locals and tourists all over the world! The best of all, it’s a family theme park which caters to different age groups, therefore it’s a die-die-must visit place if you’re in Singapore.
Getting to the theme park is an easy feat. Singapore’s transport system consists of the trains, buses, taxis and many more. Our train system, Mass Rapid Transport (MRT), has 3 different lines serving approximately one hundred stations, island wide. Our bus service is currently managed by two companies and in total; there are too many bus services around the whole island. So, to get around Singapore isn’t a problem and getting to the theme park would not get you lost.
Escape Theme Park is located at Pasir Ris, at the East side of Singapore; and if you are getting to Escape from Town, a ride in the MRT would get you there. However, you’ll still need to get onto a shuttle bus, boarding point at Pasir Ris MRT station, to get to Escape Theme Park. But, if you want to walk, not to worry, it is just a 10 minutes walk and you can find the map below.
Opened on almost every day, the theme park starts as early as 10 am all the way till 8 in the night. The theme park is always available for anyone who seeks excitement and in for something interesting. Escape Theme Park will always be open for you, unless in the event of a heavy rainstorm. The tickets cost about $18.00 for an adult and $9.00 for children below the age of 12. Without any hesitation, I purchased a ticket and enter a realm of unknown with fear and excitement hovering over me; and a sense of adrenaline rush came upon me as I enter, there were many different rides which was pulling my attention away and it wasn’t long before I came upon this huge structure and got myself a ride of a lifetime.
Introducing first, The INVERTER!
Ever wondered how the world looks like whizzing past upside down? Here's your answer! It’s a ride so intense and original; you’ll flip over, literally. From a central pivot it swings you through the cycles of a horrifying 360 degrees, picking up speed as it rocket you through air at high velocities that made me knock out of my sense. This ride will definitely kick off a good start to the whole day’s program.
What is a theme park without a well structured roller coaster which caters to both the adult and child? The family coaster is design as a friendly non-threatening ride designated for children and people whom are unable to take the more aggressive and intensive rides.
I’ve to admit one of the best times I had was on the bumper boat, splashing around and navigate carefully through an obstacle course. It was a fun time in those colourful boats inflatable dinghies and a gentle reminder if you’re intending to visit this ride. Remember to pack an extra set of clothing!
Who says that car racing is only for the professionals? You too can win the Formula 1! The Go-Kart in Escape Theme Park involves a whole gamut of twists and turns that’ll drift you away to a step being a formula 1 driver. It was an unforgettable race that I had with another rival kart to only which I claim the second place but still it was a close high intensity race!
While in a theme park, rides were going on… there’s always something unusual happening. Escape Theme Park proudly presents Haunted!! With 6 people per entry, there’s a minimum age of 7 to enter by themselves while any age below must be accompanied by an adult. I entered with a group of 5 and had a time of my life; building feelings of anticipation and fear so therefore face your deepest fear and enter at your own risk.
There’re still several other exhilarating rides which includes rides like pirate ship and rainbow. While Asia’s highest flume ride, Wild and Wet, is also a place worth the try in escape theme park. While there’s a central pavilion to satisfy our needs of foods, drinks and games. The go-easy rides which including kite flyer, Ferris Wheel and Choo Choo Train are design to provide the same fun for family visitors.
So, do visit this exciting place Escape Theme Park, with your family to enjoy both the exhilarating aggressive rides as well as the rides which caters more towards the families. Don’t ever miss the chance, as these rides would not be the same if you dun experience it so come on down to experience it yourself! BUT, this is not the end to our day at Downtown East!
Let’s just take a short walk down to Wild Wild Wet. Wild Wild Wet is another theme park besides Escape. However, this time it’s a wet theme park. You’ll just get so wet when enjoying yourself there!
Since you’ve just been to Escape, getting yourself to Wild Wild Wet wouldn’t be a problem at all. But if you’re afraid of getting lost, I’ve added a map below (:
Just before I start, let us go through some of the boring details about the theme park. It’s located just in the middle of Downtown East. An adult would have to pay about $16.00 to get in and a child below the age of 12 would be at about $11.00 for a ticket. Honestly speaking, the prices of the tickets are reasonable, and you’ll only be able to understand after enjoying yourself there.
Oh! And take note, Wild Wild Wet is open everyday from 1pm to 7 in the evening. Except for Tuesday, where there’ll be maintenance work taking place.
I went in with a mixed feeling. At that point of time, I was feeling rather excited and full of anxiety. So after changing up and getting my belongings locked in the self-rental lockers, I was ready and very eager to try out each and every ride. Every ride seems appealing to me. But there is a ride that stood out specially which caught my eyes. That ride was called ULAR-LAR.

The next thing I went for is the Tsunami. This Tsunami is a wave pool. I quite liked the concept of the pool. It combines the best of swimming pool and the sea to give you the excitement of the surf under controlled condition. So it will be safe as it will not put the life of the children at risk. There will also be a lifeguard stationed to keep a look out of the situation. You can choose to swim in the pool or can choose to lie back and soak up the sun and fun! I spent about 15 minutes relaxing on the provided float. After that, I headed for my next ride.
The next ride I went for is the Slide Up. Out of the many rides in Wild Wild Wet, I find this ride most frightening as it is rather not my type of ride. How would you feel if you were to plunge down from a four-storey ramp? The raft will then continue accelerating until you hit the deck and skimming across to soar on the opposite side. It will be repeated for several times until your momentum run out. Sounds fun? Then you should not hesitate any further to try this ride!
Next to the Slide Up, there is another ride called the sky rider. It is a twin-seat carriage. From such an elevation (five meters up in the air), you will be able to see the park and its facilities; this scenic route offers a spectacular aerial view of the various pools and rides. The duration of the ride took me about 2 minutes. However, I think it is rather worth it as the view is spectacular and you won’t get to see the view from the bottom.

There are also other rides and attractions designed for children such as the Yakult Professor’s playground and Yippee. Thus, younger aged children will not be excluded in the fun. Family members can also get together to have a great bonding time at Wild Wild Wet together.
