Hello everyone out there, my team and I would start on the Leisure and Recreation in Singapore by first introducing Sentosa to all of you. Sentosa is actually an island on the south end of Singapore. it was formerly known as Pulau Belakang (Malay name). However, over the years, it was renamed Sentosa and it became a famous tourist spot. A place where you can never miss out when you're in Singapore!

So now, let us share with you about Sentosa through our very own experience and also plan a One-day Itinerary for you along the way.

Let us start our day with the most basic, transportation, and end off our day with great fun!

Well, there are five modes of transportation getting into Sentosa. Namely, the Cable car, Sentosa expresses, Sentosa Shuttle Bus, Self-driven Car and Taxi.

However, out of these five transportations, I chose the Cable car to enter Sentosa. There are several boarding points to board the cable car. The boarding points are at The Jewel Box Station, HarbourFront and Sentosa Station.

I made my way to Sentosa by boarding the cable car at HarbourFront Station. There are several different rates of purchasing the ticket. You have to decide whether you want a one-way ticket or a return ticket. A one-way ticket for an adult will cost S$17.90 while a ticket for a child will cost S$9.00. A return ticket for an adult will cost S$18.90 while a ticket for a child will cost S$9.50. Prices will also depend on what type of cabin you choose. If you want to have a better bottom view, you can choose a glass bottom cabin which is slightly more expensive. It cost S$21.90 for an adult and S$12.90 for a child. However, if you were to choose a glass bottom cabin, there will only be return tickets, as they don’t sell one-way tickets for a glass bottom cabin. For myself I purchased a one-way ticket instead of a return ticket (although it is another additional $1 differences only!!) as I wanted to try other modes of transportation when I’m leaving the island. I was rather frightened at first when I boarded the cable car as I was afraid of heights. But soon, I managed to overcome my fear because the cable car is enclosed! Alright, back to the topic. The view from the top is magnificently beautiful and stunning! I would advice you all to take the cable car ride into Sentosa so as not to miss this golden opportunity. Because the view from the cable car is just simply amazing! You just have to try it to believe it.

After alighting from the cable car, which is at cable car arrival plaza, my main transport to get around Sentosa is either by foot or hopping onto any of Sentosa Bus. Sentosa Bus is actually a form of shuttle service that is being provided for the visitor's comfort and convenience. This shuttle service only have 3 different lines going around the island. They are the Red Line, Blue Line and Yellow Line.

and of course, to start my day right and taking advantage of the hot and sunny weather, i headed to the beach!

oh! before I get started about the wonderful beaches in Sentosa, i'll just talk alittle more about 'How to get around Sentosa'. there's in total about 5 ways to get around Sentosa (excluding car and by foot). there is the beach trams [to get around the 3 beaches], the Fort Siloso Bus, the Sentosa Express [serving 4 stations located all over the island], the Open-top bus and lastly, the Sentosa Bus.

THE BEACH!

Sentosa is a place filled with wonders and fun so therefore you can NEVER not go to it's beach.
Talking about recreations, the certain place you wouldn’t want to miss out is the beaches at Sentosa. There are three beautiful beaches there which consist of Palawan beach, Siloso beach and also the Tanjong beach.

At the Palawan beach also known as Singapore’s happiest family beach consist of several exciting activities. Most notable is the long suspension bridge which links the beach-goers to the southernmost Point of continental Asia, or Asia’s closest point to the equator. As I made my way across the bridge towards the small island, I could feel the wind blow and the excitement in the air simply explained why it’s Singapore’s happiest family beach.

While I was on my way back from the island, I was initially shock before relief sets in when I saw pirates on the beaches. But fear not kids, Captain Palawan is a friendly yet fun-loving pirate which appears at Palawan beach every sat and sun or during public holidays. Captain Palawan certainly entertained me even though I’m not a part of his treasure hunting adventure crew but nevertheless it had been a fun experience with a pirate, thank captain Palawan.

Moving on to the next in line is the Siloso beach also known as Singapore’s hippest beach. Probably the best beaches around Singapore I would say, Siloso beach offers many activities like canoeing, mountain biking and rollerblading. And it’s not long before I got onto a bike and ride around the beach myself. It was a memorable experience riding along the road track of the beach and enjoying the exhilaration of volleyball matches that was going on.

The last on the list, was the Tanjong beach which is usually known for guest who enjoys the cool breeze of the sea while listening carefully to the whistling of the sea. The beach offers tranquility
and solitudes which is a good get away place for couple who likes a romantic beach ambience I stroll towards the sea and making myself comfortable on the white fine sand holding a drink and a book just to chill and relax just before the sunset for the rest of my tiring but exciting experience at Sentosa beach.

That's about all for the Beaches in Sentosa. just reading our blog post doesn't give you the feeling we feel. YOU have to c'mon down here to try it for yourself. At the same time, stay tune to our blog as we'll be posting up more about Sentosa soon.
